Frederik Meijer Gardens Summer Camps

A wide variety of classes for adults, children, and parent/child pairs are offered year-round, and engaging summer camps for children ages 4 to 14 are also offered each summer. Camps vary from week-long to 1-day camps and run from mid-June through mid-August.

H.E.A.L.T.H. Camps - Calvin University

This one- week day camp is FREE, and it provides the opportunities for girls and boys to learn about health and jobs in the medical field, including nursing, speech therapy, occupational therapy, medicine, and social work. The camps will be from June 17–21, 2024 (girls, ages 9 to 11 years) from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; June 24–28, 2024 (girls, ages 12 to 15 years) from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and June 24–28, 2024 (boys, 12 to 17 years) from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Interior Design Summer Workshop

Ball State's Interior Design program is offering a summer workshop to give high schoolers a hands-on interior design experience. The workshop explores fundamentals of 2D and 3D concepts, basic drawing and illustration skills, use of color and light effects, and how interior environments affect human behavior. Both in-person and online sessions available. At the end of the workshop students have new friends, new perspectives, and a personal portfolio full of ideas!

John Ball Zoo Summer Day Camp

Camps are open to students age 3 - 9th grade at various times throughout the summer. Each class follows a particular theme, spends time in the zoo and park setting. Your camper may be prowling past the Tigers, fixing up animal treats or even cleaning out Bongo stalls! Classes include full day and half day opportunities.

Joy of Coding

Courses created for high schoolers. No prior coding experience required. All courses are online and self paced. Students use Python to learn how coding powers Snapchat, TikTok, Instagram, and Siri…and even learn how to code their own Snapchat lenses!

Lionardo Art Studio Summer Camps

Art camps available for ages 3-15. Each camp features a unique theme inspiring creative exploration and artistic fun!

Michigan State University College of Agriculture & Natural Resources Pre-College Programs

The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR) offers pre-college programs to students in grades 8-12 to increase awareness of technology, careers, college life and opportunities in agriculture, natural resources and STEM disciplines.

Michigan Tech Summer Youth Programs

Summer Youth Programs (SYP) at Michigan Tech provides students with a chance to experience college life in a fun, engaging, and safe setting. Students choose one or more explorations to participate in during the summer: subjects range from electrical engineering to forensic science, digital photography to computer science, and so much more. SYP explorations are driven by hands-on activities and introductions to many different fields.

Michigan Virtual - WizKid Summer Coding and STEAM Camps

Michigan Virtual has partnered with WizKid to offer online camps for kids ages 8-14! These camps are offered throughout the summer and start at $150. Camps include Roblox Game Design, Game Design with Scratch, and Game Design with Python!

miRcore Computational Biology Research Camps

These camps are available for academically motivated high school students (including incoming freshmen). Students will learn about computational biology research, programming, teamwork, community outreach, and leadership Virtual and In-Person options available.

Muskegon Area ISD Career Camp

Career Camp gives current seventh and eighth graders the opportunity to explore a variety of career options before high school. Participants attend a different career-exploratory class each day.

MySchool@Kent Summer Sessions

Locations throughout Grand Rapids. June- August. Need to fit in a couple of extra classes? Or get caught up with credits? One of the best things about MySchool@Kent is that you can complete your actual class work anywhere you want, anytime you want. See site for details.

Robotics and Science Camp

Sessions available for students in grades 1-9. Design, build and program a Lego Robot and do fun science experiments!

U-M Youth Hub Summer Camps

A variety of summer camps available for students in middle school and high school.

University of Michigan Summer Tech Camps

Opportunities available for students ages 7-17. Coding, game development, robotics, and design.

VAEI Summer Camps (Van Andel Education Institute)

Van Andel Institute for Education offers unique summer camps in science, engineering, and robotics for students in grades K–12. 1-day and 4-day summer camp options throughout the summer include a variety of hands-on interactive investigations where kids think and act like scientists!

Youth Police Academy (YPA)

A FREE 1-week long mock police academy created for Kent County high school students, grades 10 - 12. Held July 15-19, 2024. Days will include a variety of activities, including presentations from Vice, the Special ResponseTeam, K9 handlers, Bomb Squad, and more. The program combines classroom learning with hands-on scenarios and tactivs training.

GR Kids Camp List

Our friends over at Grand Rapids Kids have also been assembling a fantastic list of summer camps. While ours has more of a career focus, theirs covers all sorts of other fun topics like sports, dance, traditional summer camps, and more! Check it out.

Grand Rapids Civic Theatre

SOLD OUT for 2024 for most camp options. Please call to be put on a waitlist. Camp still available for students who have completed grades 7 through 12 by June 2024. Over the course of two weeks, students interested in the production side of performance will participate in crew training with the Volunteer Coordinator of Grand Rapids Civic Theatre, study and collaborate with professional designers in sets, props, costumes, lighting and sound, and work on one or both of the One Acts being performed by their peers at the end of week 2!

Grand Rapids Whitewater Summer Science and Leadership Program

The Grand River is the heart of our city and the intersection of its history, business, ecology and social scene. The Grand Rapids WhiteWater 10-day Summer Science and Leadership Program takes learning outside the classroom. Program takes place July 8-19, 2024, for incoming Juniors and Seniors fall of 2024.

Grand Valley State University Summer Camps

GVSU is hosting a wide variety of academic summer camps. Opportunities include Advanced Manufacturing, Writing, Energizing Our World, and much more!

GRCC Career Camps

These hands-on camps are open to students in grades 6-9. Camp opportunities include construction, manufacturing, water careers, and woodworking.

Alma College Summer Camps

Opportunties for students in grades 2-12. Topics include STEM, research, art, music and more!

American Legion Auxiliary - Civic Camp

June 23-29, 2024, held on the campus of Michigan State University. Current juniors who are interested in civics and government and have considered seeking careers in public service are encouraged to look into the opportunity of Girls State and Boys State, offered by the American Legion. It offers students a seven-day mock government program that is fast paced, interactive and includes campaigning, debating, voting and electing mock local and state leaders.

Amped Virtual Reality Camp

Camps are designed for ages 8 - 13 in the following STEM areas: coding, robotics (building and coding), electronics, and 3D printing! Children are grouped by age and skill level.

Aquinas College

This summer Aquinas College is hosting four very diverse in-person opportunities: Jazz, Science, Ceramics, and Roleplay Gaming camps. Opportunities available for students entering grades 5-12. Visit the link for more information on the opportunities available.

Aviation Camp at Western Michigan University

Western Michigan University runs a week long summer camp for high school students focusing on the exciting field of aviation. Previous Aviation Summer Camps have been a great success filled with good memories, friends, flying, and exceptional content! Camp is open to high school students.

Blandford Nature Center

Only a few spots remain for these popular camps, offered to children ages 4-12. View the Summer Day Camp Brochure to see camp dates, age groups, and themes. If the camps you were hoping to register for are sold out, you are encouraged to sign up for a spot on the waitlist!

Calvin University

Calvin Univeristy offers a variety of camps for kids and youth, ages 4–18, designed to help them bridge the gap between one school year and the next. Visit the link to learn more about the Chemisty, Health, Music, Nature, and Sports camp opportunities available.

Camp Invention

A program of the National Inventors Hall of Fame®, Camp Invention: This year’s all-new program is designed to ignite wonder, encourage confidence and build essential STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) skills through collaborative, creative problem solving. As campers join their friends in so much hands-on fun and excitement, they will be blown away by their discoveries and STEM successes! Two programs available in the GR area- North Godwin Elementary School and Allendale Middle School.

Cornerstone University

Cornerstone University offers a number of camps for students in grades 3-12! Athletes, musicians, aspiring nurses and creative writers will find themselves right at home with their summer programs while being challenged to build on the skills and knowledge that they already have.

Davenport University

This is a great opportunity to learn about the fundamentals of cyber security. Students entering 9th through 12th grade are able to participate in this free camp that will take place June 17-21, 2024. No prior Cyber Security knowledge required.

Grand Rapids Art Museum

GRAM Summer Art Camp provides children and teens ages 4 through 15 with the opportunity to experience creativity and innovation in a unique and transformative Museum setting. Campers take part in observation and discussion in the Museum’s galleries and explore hands-on art making activities in GRAM Studio. Campers will be immersed in collaborative problem-solving through enriching communication and creativity. Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 12:00 Noon.

Grand Rapids Public Museum

This summer, kids pre-K through high school can explore the wonders of science, history, culture and more at the GRPM through a variety of camp offerings. The GRPM offers options for single day or multi-day camps with a variety of camp themes, running from mid-June to mid-August.
